IMPLEMENTASI METODE READING ALOUD (MEMBACA NYARING) DALAM MENGEMBANGKAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA PADA PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIA MURID KELAS III MI NW BUNGTIANG

Abstract

This study aims to examine the process of implementing the reading aloud method in developing the reading skills of grade III students of MI NW Bungtiang. The importance of reading skills in learning Indonesian in elementary school, especially in the lower grades. Reading skills are basic skills that students must master to understand various information in the learning process. However, in reality, there are still students who have difficulties in reading, such as lack of fluency, pronunciation errors, and low comprehension of reading content. Therefore, the method used is the reading aloud method (reading aloud) in developing students' reading skills. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of phenomenological research. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana models which include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the implementation of the reading aloud method in class III MI NW Bungtiang is carried out through the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. The teacher first chooses the appropriate reading material, then gives an example of reading aloud with the right intonation and pronunciation, then the student reads alternately with the teacher's guidance. This activity is able to increase students' courage in reading, improve pronunciation, and improve understanding of reading content. The reading aloud method is effectively used in learning Indonesian because it is supported by the theory of Tarigan and Rahim which emphasizes the importance of a good reading model from teachers. Research on the reading aloud method can be used as an alternative learning strategy to improve students' reading skills in elementary schools, especially in elementary grades, as well as encourage teachers to be more creative in creating active and fun learning.
