PELATIHAN ECOPRINT SEBAGAI BENTUK PENGABDIAN BIDANG LINGKUNGAN-KEWIRAUSAHAAN DI DESA TANGKAHEN KALIMANTAN TENGAH

Abstract

Environmental problems resulting from the use of synthetic textile dyes remain a serious issue, producing hazardous waste that impacts plants, animals, humans, and ecosystems. Public awareness and participation in preserving the environment are also relatively low. On the other hand, the people of Tangkahen Village, Banama Tingang District, Pulang Pisau Regency, Central Kalimantan, have limited understanding of the use of natural materials, low skills in creating productive works, and are not yet optimally recognizing opportunities for environmentally-based entrepreneurship. Based on these conditions, community service activities were carried out through ecoprint training, an environmentally friendly printing technique that uses leaves and flowers as natural dyes on fabric. The training was conducted in January 2024, using a method of providing material and direct practice using the founding technique, in collaboration with the Borneo Mengabdi organization, which serves as a forum for community service volunteers in various remote areas of Kalimantan. The resulting product was an ecoprint tablecloth combined with ecobricks as a form of environmentally friendly innovation. The results of the activity demonstrated high enthusiasm from the PKK women of Tangkahen Village who have the potential to develop ecoprint into a creative entrepreneurial venture while supporting environmental conservation.
