DIGITAL CREATIVITY TRAINING: DEVELOPING A MATHEMATICS E-MODULE FOR HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS

Abstract

Teachers' difficulties in developing creative digital teaching materials are a major challenge during mathematics learning in this era of digital transformation. This community service aims to build high school teachers' skills in designing creative, innovative, and interactive digital-based mathematics e-modules for students. The implementation methods include (1) needs analysis using Google Forms; (2) training workshops; (3) mentoring in developing digital-based e-modules; and (4) evaluating e-modules and improving teacher competency with the results of pre-tests and post-tests. This activity was attended by 20 high school mathematics teachers in Jakarta. The results of the activity showed (1) an increase in teacher competency (83.33%); (2) an increase in design creativity of the e-module (80%), namely in the aspects of visual design, mathematical content preparation, multimedia integration, and the use of interactive features in the e-module. The teachers produced a prototype of a mathematics e-module that is suitable for use in learning. This activity contributes to increasing pedagogical creativity and digital literacy of high school teachers in developing interesting and innovative digital teaching materials. Future research requires further mentoring and the development of a community of practitioners who are experts in their fields for the sustainability of practice in developing digital mathematics e-modules.
