STRATEGI PENGUATAN PENDIDIKAN MULTIKULTURAL DALAM KURIKULUM SEKOLAH

This study explores the implementation of a multicultural education curriculum in schools using a
descriptive qualitative approach. The main objective is to identify the principles, components, and
challenges in implementing the multicultural curriculum, as well as to examine the perspectives of
teachers, students, and stakeholders. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory
observations, and document analysis, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman method. The findings
indicate that the principles of inclusive cultural representation, integration of social justice values, and
diversity-based learning approaches are key elements of the multicultural curriculum. However,
conceptual, socio-cultural, and structural barriers remain significant challenges. This study provides
strategic recommendations, including enhancing teacher competence, designing inclusive curricula,
transforming school culture, and promoting community participation. These findings are expected to
serve as practical guidelines to support the effective implementation of multicultural education and to
foster a generation that is tolerant, inclusive, and prepared to face the challenges of a multicultural
global society.
