PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM MULTIKULTURAL DI TENGAH DINAMIKA TRANSFORMASI DIGITAL

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) based on multiculturalism in the digital era presents significant
challenges and opportunities in fostering tolerance, inclusivity, and an understanding of diversity. This
article aims to analyze the impact of digital technology on IRE teaching that incorporates cultural and
religious diversity values. A technology-based approach enables more interactive, engaging, and
contextual learning, which can expand students’ understanding of Islamic teachings and other cultures.
However, the main challenge in its implementation is the spread of unverified information and the
misuse of technology. Therefore, digital literacy is key to mitigating the negative impacts of technology
use in education. By integrating multicultural principles into religious education, it is hoped that a
generation will emerge that is not only knowledgeable about religion but also values cultural and
religious differences, thus contributing to the creation of a more harmonious and tolerant society.
